Go Pro Magnetic Swivel Clip

My Hero 8 Black (Affiliate link) has become one of my most used cameras. It's small, portable, charges over USB-C, and has pretty damn good video and audio quality. It's perfect for vlogging. I have a variety of mounts and grips for it, and this week I added a new one to my collection.
The camera mounts to it using a little plastic pop in clip and the two prong mount on the bottom of the GoPro with a thumbscrew.
The Magnetic Swivel Clip has a couple of things going for it. First off, it's magnetic. This is pretty cool for someone who does a lot of work on cars. It's NOT a strong enough magnet to stick it to a body panel and go drive around, I would use something like the Job Suction Cup Mount for that (affiliate link), but it IS ideal to capture work done on a car. Stuck to the bottom of a hood or under the car, you can get a great hands free vantage point to document repairs and modifications. This is gonna be my main use case for this mount, to be honest.

The other option with this mount is to simply clip it to something. It has a clip that opens to about 1.5". This is ideal for a backpack strap or something like your overalls pocket. I also tried it clipped to a sunvisor for an easy in car view, it worked very well for that.
Like I said earlier, this is going to get a lot of use from me primarily because of the "Stick the magnet to something on a car" aspect of it. I'm happy with it so far, and if you have GoPro Plus it's only like $12. I'll update this post if I have any issues with it, but my initial impressions are pretty damn positive.

How are you finding this accessory a few month in? I’m thinking of picking one up but afraid it might end up in the GoPro accessory box in the attic. How sturdy is the clamp? Could I clamp it on the strap of my running backpack and run with it for example?

Best wishes from Sweden.

I still use it a lot. The clamp is very sturdy, the magnet is okay but I wouldn't trust it on a moving vehicle or anything. it's great for static stuff though. The clamp I would totally trust on a backpack, I have used it like that before with no problems.
