This may not seem like much, probably because it's not, but I made a functioning app in Swift. Not like "I followed a tutorial" kind of thing, but I came up with an idea for a simple app and coded it based on what I have learned so far in the 100 days of Swift course, and I've only been doing this for about a week.
It's dumb, but it's little tiny victories like this that keep me motivated to keep programming.
I've basically decided that any plan is better than no plan. I also genuinely enjoy writing code, and I'm not a total noob. I learned enough Python last year during the pandemic to write a fleet management app, with a GUI and all, so I'm at least not starting from zero, and at least with Python, I was able to pick it up pretty fast.
I'm going to start with Swift. In fact I'm already doing the Hacking with Swift 100 Days of Swift course on Swift and SwiftUI. I'm currently on day 16, though it's taken me 30 days to get there due honestly to apathy.
I'm going to actually commit though, and see how far I can get. I'm not posting these updates anywhere other than on my website for now, so effectively no one will see this, but I can at least update it regularly to keep myself honest.
So Hot Springs, Arkansas is the best little vacation spot we have found within toddler driving range of Memphis. It’s not very expensive, it’s right at 3 hours from Memphis so Ava can tolerate the drive, and there’s a decent amount of stuff to do. I recently purchased an RX100M7 and I figured this little trip was a perfect excuse to put it through it’s paces. Here’s my video from the first day. Turn the quality up as far as your browser and monitor will allow, it was shot in 4K.
We’re staying at the Embassy Suites on Convention Blvd and the restaurant we went to was Rolando’s.
